The aim of the WINNET8-project was to advance gender equality in the labour market. The project was especially focused on supporting female entrepreneurship and employment in technology- and innovation-intensive fields. WINNET8 was a so called capitalisation initiative; its purpose was to capitalise on the earlier projects that were funded by EU’s structural funds, and to spread the resulting Best Practices further. These Best Practices advocated women’s employment, entrepreneurship and equality, and the exchange of good practices between the partaking regions.
The WINNET8-project co-operation is based on two previous female entrepreneurship projects that were funded by the Interreg programmes FEM /Interreg IIIB and WINNET Europe/ Interreg III C.
