The aim of the ICT for Health –project was to promote the deployment of communication and information technology (IC technology) applications in healthcare in preventing and treating the patients’ conditions. The project sought to increase both the healthcare personnel’s and the population’s awareness and readiness to recognise the possibilities enabled by IC technology in healthcare. The ageing population was at the centre of the project, and the goal was, via pilot projects, to prove that IC technology health applications are user-friendly, lower the cost of healthcare, and enable increased mobility for the ageing population.
