The first part of the North East Cargo Link (NECL) –project was carried out in 2003-2006. In the first part, one was to clarify the status of freight transport inside the mid-Nordic transport corridor (which starts from Norway, goes through both Sweden and Finland and ends up in Russia), as well as the development prerequisites and possibilities of the transport corridor’s transport infrastructure and logistics. The objective of the follow-up project, NECL II, is to further develop and market the transport corridor.
